Let me tell you a little about my
cattery. Irishcoons is located in Florida near Tampa Bay.
Irishcoons was first registered with CFA in 1997 and in July of 1999
received a Veterinarian inspected, CFA Approved Cattery of
Excellence standing. We are a small cattery, producing a few
litters a year. This enables us to give the utmost attention to the
socialization of the newborn kittens, and the rearing of the adolescent kittens
as well. Our home is our cattery so the kittens are truly raised
underfoot. We also enjoy a very busy show season, so staying small has its
advantages. We are a closed cattery which means we have our own males,
Grand Champion, Regional Winner, Black Tye's Dr. "J" of Irishcoons.
Doc was 19th Best Cat in the Southern Region for the 99-00 show year and Best
Blue Tabby Maine Coon Nationally. What a year for both of us! We
also have a younger male, CH Irishcoons
Crimson Tide that has produced some beautiful kittens so far.
Most of the females have received at least the title of Champion and some Grand
Champion. Although we are
proud of our show accomplishments, health, type and temperament are most
important to us.
I specialize in blue tabbies with or
without white. Many people refer to this color as a soft gray with areas
of fawn coloring blended in. This fawn color is referred to as patina.
My breeding program allows me to have the ability to produce brown patch
tabbies, brown classic tabbies, brown mackerel tabbies, red tabbies, and cream
tabbies with or without white. The colors of my females can be seen in
The Girls of Irishcoons
and my males can
be seen in
The Boys of Irishcoons.
What you expect from Irishcoons is a professional contract stating
all agreements concerning the kitten or cat, requirements for a spay-neuter
agreement for kittens sold as pets, a health guarantee, health certification,
basic inoculations, and CFA registration papers. You will also receive
information that will help your kitten or cat adjust to its new home. What
Irishcoons expects from you is not to declaw your kitten, as it is a
mutilation, to keep your purebred kitten exclusively indoors, to follow breeder
advice on neutering and spaying as agreed, to register your kitten's name in
CFA, and to send pictures and weights on the kitten to help the breeder track
their development.
